Tommy Ring is the man behind it all. He grew up in an Arkansas preacher’s home. His main interests have always been music and hot rods. He started playing music at a young age in church, next was small clubs and he eventually played at the famous Palomino Club in North Hollywood, California. After that he wrote for a jingle company and built his own studio.

Tommy’s father was an avid car nut and a great mechanic; Tommy later followed in his dad’s footsteps. Hot Rods were his hobby and music was his passion, but now Hot Rods are the main line. His favorite music is jazz and he enjoys a good comedy. He is currently working on a new video and a new rat rod build for Rat Rod Magazine, which he currently writes for; the article is called “Tommy’s Toolbox.”

Through the magazine and the website Tommy will keep his readers and customers updated on the progress of his current projects.

  1. Like the website, looks like fun and it will help a lot of builders including myself. Good magazine articles too.

  2. Hi Tommy
I’m building a 27 T coupe rat rod. What could I use as a insert for the T grill shell? I’m looking for cheap but cool. Your the guy to answer that question for me because you know how to design on a dime. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

P.s. You build video is great. If ever you do another one. I want that to.

  3. Just watched your interview here in Australia on TV interview with Kerry Pharr. Was so impressed. I am a young 83 yr with a zeal and passion here in South Australia to do a similar projects as we are inundated with lost and lonely boys and men. I have also had dreams and visions of similar work with old bikes and buggies. I want to say bless you for your show and I will certainly look your site up and any ideas of encouragement or follow up would be greatly appreciated. God Bless. bob Palmer

  4. Tommy, I called you today and asked you for a drawing for the front axle brackets. You said you would send them to me so I can machine them myself.
